London at Christmas

I decided to visit London a week before Christmas to see the city illuminated and to revisit a place that holds a special place in my heart. I left Manchester on the night of the 18th and spent two fantastic days in London, sharing everything on my vlogs (links below).

On our first morning, we walked from our hotel to Notting Hill, arriving at Portobello Road, the famous street market. It was full of delicious food, creative souvenirs, and unique shops that could only be found there.

The surrounding streets were so tranquil that it was hard to believe we were in the middle of a bustling city. The architecture was also charming. After exploring Notting Hill, we walked to Hyde Park to explore and spend some time before meeting a friend in central London.

What caught my eye in Hyde Park were the animals, especially the squirrels, who came very close, hoping for food.

I couldn’t miss watching the sunset from the terrace at One New Change, which offers a panoramic view of the City of London. From there, you can see the London Eye, notable city buildings, and the dome of St. Paul’s Cathedral in the background.

I also visited Somerset House, which had an ice skating rink. Unfortunately, it was so crowded that I couldn’t get a ticket. Always book in advance! Nowadays, it’s easy to plan and buy tickets online. I hadn’t considered skating beforehand, but it was worth a try.

Nearby was Covent Garden, a place I had seen online. It was full of attractions, delicious food, souvenirs, and little shops selling handmade products.

I had lunch at the Coppa Club, a restaurant located on the banks of the River Thames with a stunning view of Tower Bridge. I spent about two hours there, thoroughly enjoying the experience. I couldn’t get into the igloos, but maybe next time!
