The French in Manchester

The French by
Adam Reid

This week, Rafael and I celebrated in style our first year together.

The gastronomic journey was so intense, So I decided to record every detail of that day.

We booked a table at the French restaurant with modern British food, which is inside a beautiful hotel in central Manchester, called the Midland Hotel. Before making the reservation I looked at some reviews, some spoke very well while the others did not.
We choose the menu SIX, that is, we do not choose our dishes, they are chosen by the Chef, and that is why we chose, for the experience of 6 dishes.
On the reservation I told you that it would be a special date and that Rafael is allergic to crustaceans and does not eat meat. As soon as we sat down, a very nice woman came up with the special menu for RAFA. Three dishes from his menu were different from mine. We ordered a bottle of wine and went to total a 2hours and a half dinner. That was worth it. But I'm warning you, knowing that you're going on a Frenchman, you better not go too hungry. It's a gastronomy to enjoy, to have a good wine, to talk... And not to "fill you up" and leave. That must be why I saw some reviews of people complaining that they were still hungry when they left.

After the 5 º course, I was already really satisfied, but still we ordered an extra course, which was on our menu (photo below) and to end up the night, we were invited to sit on the counter in front of the head cheff of desserts, to see him prepare ours. chatting to each other, we found out that he is Chilean, lived in Sao Paulo and spoke Portuguese fluent with us.. Hahahah lot of fun!
